We hope you had a great summer! Now that the kids are back in school, we are pleased to let you know that Mercer Island Girls Basketball is ready to kick off the season. We will be sharing more details and links for registration in the coming week, but wanted to at least get the following dates on your calendars

BRING YOUR OWN BALL TO ALL CLINICS AND TRYOUTS!

  • 9/14: WNBA Shooting Clinic (with WNBA Shooting Coach) 6-8pm @ MIHS, $25 Register
  • 9/18 & 9/25: Tune-Up Clinics (with former NBA Asst Coach Corey Belser) $25 per session (choose during Select tryout registration)
    • Monday, 9/18 @ Northwood
      • 5th/6th grades 5:30-7:00 pm
      • 7th/8th grades 7:00-8:30 pm
    • Monday, 9/25 @ Islander Middle School (main gym)
      • 5th/6th grades 6:30-7:45 pm
      • 7th/8th grades 7:45-9:00 pm
  • 9/19 Dine Out @ Mioposto 4-9pm for MIGB. 20% of dine in and takeout orders donated to MIGB.
  • 9/30 and 10/2: Tryouts @ PEAK (MI Boys & Girls Club) $10 registration fee REGISTER HERE
    • Both days are required – If your child is unable to make it to both tryout dates, they will be evaluated on the one try out they attended
    • Saturday, 9/30
      • 5th/6th grades 9-10:30 am
      • 7th/8th grades 10:30 am-12 pm
    • Monday, 10/2
      • 5th/6th grades 6-7:30 pm
      • 7th/8th grades 7:30-9 pm
  • 10/5: Mandatory Select Parent Meeting 7-8:30pm (location tbd)
  • 10/9-10/13: Twice-per-week practices begin (tentative)
  • March 8-10, 2024 State Tournament for all qualifying teams

Per MIGB policy, practice sessions including tune-up clinics are closed to parents.

Potential for Multiple Teams for Each Grade

NEW for the 2023-2024 Season! Each grade will offer at least one team with the potential for second teams based on demand. Spread the word! “A” teams would participate in the Eastside Travel League (ETL) and “B” teams would compete through the Peak (Cascade) League.
